Coollink is the 1st ISP in Africa to launch the Yahclick satellite Internet broadband service
In a significant development for internet connectivity in Nigeria, YAHSAT has teamed up with Coollink to launch YahClick, a satellite broadband service heralded as a game-changer in Nigerian internet access. At an event in Abuja, company representatives introduced the service, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize internet connectivity with its straightforward acquisition process, cost-effectiveness, and competitive subscription rates for the speeds it offers.
Nadim Chidiac, the Chief Technical Officer of Coollink, highlighted the affordability of YahClick, noting that the initial costs could be incorporated into monthly subscription fees, thereby alleviating the need for substantial upfront payments for connection equipment. YahClick's plans for individual users include basic internet functionalities such as email, web browsing, and social media engagement on platforms like Skype, Facebook, and Twitter, offering speeds of 256/1Mbps and a daily data cap of 200MB, which translates to approximately 6GB per month, all for a monthly fee of N7,500. For larger enterprises and corporate clients, YahClick provides the capability to handle vast data transfers, with daily capabilities reaching hundreds of gigabytes, download speeds up to 15Mbps, and upload speeds up to 3Mbps.
Yashar, YAHSAT's Regional Director for Africa, shared insights into the company's satellite capabilities, which include two operational satellites. One satellite provides coverage over the Middle East and parts of Asia, while another, launched earlier in the year, extends YAHSAT's reach across Africa. The preparation for these launches spanned approximately four years, encompassing setup, technical partnerships, and team training.
YahClick stands as YAHSAT's flagship service and product, introduced to the Nigerian market in collaboration with Coollink. According to Shahin Nouri, the Chief Operating Officer of Coollink, this partnership marks the first of its kind in Africa and is unique to Nigeria. He pointed out the advantages of YahClick over traditional fiber optic broadband, especially in terms of deployment costs and speed of installation, positioning YahClick as a superior option for businesses seeking reliable, affordable internet services.
Coollink is actively seeking local reseller partnerships across Nigeria, offering attractive terms to expand its distribution network and fulfill its vision of enhanced internet accessibility and profitability for its partners. This initiative promises to significantly impact Nigeria's digital landscape, offering unprecedented access and connectivity solutions to a wide range of users.
